The Art of Sport in Exhibition
CJK's work has been presented through a series of themed sporting exhibitions in Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, France and the United Kingdom, bringing together paintings centred on individual sports and the distinctive movement, atmosphere and emotion of each.
Presented in galleries, hotels and exhibition centres, these exhibitions allow the scale, colour and physical presence of the work to be experienced in spaces beyond the studio.
Each exhibition is conceived around a particular sporting world, bringing together figurative painting, expressive mark-making and atmosphere to create an immersive celebration of sport.
MotoGP - Buriram, Thailand
A celebration of the speed, colour and intensity of motorcycle racing, the MotoGP-themed exhibition in Buriram, Thailand brought together large-scale works capturing riders, machines and the drama of competition.
Expressive mark-making, fragmented backgrounds and areas of abstraction convey the sensation of speed, while the rider and motorcycle remain at the centre of each composition.
Boxing - United Arab Emirates
The boxing exhibition in the United Arab Emirates explored one of CJK's most dramatic subjects: the physical and psychological intensity of the ring.
Strong contrasts of light and shadow, expressive surfaces and tightly focused figurative compositions capture moments of confrontation, movement and tension, transforming the spectacle of boxing into contemporary figurative art.
Skiing - France
Presented in France, the skiing exhibition explored the relationship between the moving figure and the vast landscape surrounding it.
The works combine the speed and dynamism of the skier with the light, space and atmosphere of the mountains, creating a collection in which movement and environment become equally important.
Rugby - United Kingdom
Presented in London, the rugby exhibition celebrated the physicality, movement and collective drama of the game.
Powerful figurative compositions capture tackles, runs and decisive moments of competition, while expressive brushwork, colour and abstracted backgrounds reinforce the energy and physical intensity of the action.
